Enrichment Courses at Madrona

Enrichment classes are sponsored by MIT and range in topics including language, arts music and sports

Classes are held after or before school and are taught by outside contractors, teachers parents and even students.

Fees collected for the classes go toward supply costs and instructors fee, if applicable.

How to propose an enrichment class

Proposal forms can be picked up at the volunteer office or send the information below to Lisa Miller at brettlisa@comcast.net

New Class Proposal Form - (Include all of the following)

1.Your address

2. Title of course

3. Description of course

4. What grade level of students should register for course? If other grades also register, would you accept them (this frequently happens no matter how we list the class on the registration form)?

5. What is the minimum number of students needed to enroll for you to have the class?

6. What is the maximum number of students possible to attend your class?

7. Do you have a materials cost? If so, how much per student?

8. What day of week would you like your class?

9. How long will each class be: 45min   60 min  90 min

10. How many weeks?  4,6, 8

11. Proposed start date if different from the rest of the enrichment classes.

12. What type of space do you need? (specifics such as sink, large/small space...)

13. A stipend is available to thank our volunteer teachers.

This is provided out of the general MIT fund for enrichment classes as well as from the $10 enrollment fee asked of students.  Up to $250 per class is available -- typically based on a class minimum of about 8-10 students running for the full 8 weeks.  While we may negotiate the stipend with you if you are asking for additional fees from individual students, the full $250 is available to all volunteer teachers.

Would you like a stipend and if so, how much? Or do you wish to volunteer your time?

14. What is the best way to contact you in the future?
