Greetings Madrona Families – It’s hard to believe that December is upon us and that school has already been in session for 13 weeks. Now is a good time for some quick traffic safety reminders.
- Please observe all crosswalks, including the one on 236th Street. We’ve had some near misses recently when drivers did not stop for children in crosswalks.
- No left turns when leaving the parking lot during drop-off and pick-up times. The no left turn sign was removed during some construction-related work, but is up again now.
- Students should only be dropped off and picked up in the designated drop-off/pick-up lane. In particular, do not drop your child off on 236th Street, which requires them to weave through traffic to safely cross the street.
- Please do not use your cell phone when driving.
The best way to keep our kids safe when arriving and departing is to observe all traffic laws regarding stop signs and crosswalks, unless directed to do otherwise by a designated staff person.
