SEUSSICAL
If your child is in the 4th through 8th grade and is interested in auditioning for this year’s theater production, Seussical, please attend our information meeting where you can find out all the details. This meeting is for both parents and students of new and veteran actors. We will let you know what you can expect in terms of auditions, call backs, rehearsal schedules, time demands, etc. Bring your questions - they are always welcome. Previews, Auditions and Call Backs for Seussical: This year, students who are unsure whether or not they would like to audition for the play can come to two Seussical Preview Meetings on Nov. 7th (music) and Nov. 8th (choreography/acting) from 3:50 - 5:30 pm on the Madrona Stage. The director, Ted Jaquith; music directors, Mark and Nancy Press; our choreographer, Gabe Corey, will be available to talk about our production of Seussical. Auditions will be on November 13th and 14th from 3:50 to 6:00 pm. Callbacks will be on Nov. 15th and 16th. Contact Sharon or Sarah for more information.

ENRICHMENT CLASSES
All after school classes are up and running. The parent enrichment committee hopes that the kids are getting to their classes safely. We are still looking for parent volunteers who would like to be walking buddies, escorting students from centers to their class.
Explore Language has space available in French, Japanese and Mandarin and will start running the classes if enough people register. Currently Spanish is being held on Mondays and Wednesdays after school. Call Michelle at 206-568-0480 for further information. Registration forms are available in the family room.

BARNES AND NOBLE BOOK FAIR
Mark your calendars now! It’s Book Fair time!!! This fall we will be having our book fair at Barnes and Noble Alderwood On November 15th. This has become a very fun filled evening with activities and shopping combined! In previous years we have been able to earn at least a $1000 profit. This adds up to many, many new books for our school library. Thank you so much for your continued support. See you there on November 15th!
SCRIP NEWS
Remember to order your Barnes and Noble gift crds to use at the Book Fair on November 15th. They are available in $10 and $25 denominations and we get 9% for each card ordered (in addition to what Barnes and Noble donates to us after the book fair!) Make it a family night and order scrip gift cards for dinner. Stop by the scrip table and order or place your order in the office. Look for a special order form in the mail next Wednesday for restaurants and shops near Barnes and Noble. Call Linda Park at 425-672-9485 if you have any questions.
BEAR SCARE NEWS!
Starting tomorrow, October 18th through October 26th, tickets will be sld in the morning from 8:45 until 9:30 in front of the office. Tickets will also be sold at the door at 6:00 pm on Bear Scare night. The tickets are $1 per person. You can also prepay for a pizza meal. Pizza tickets are $5 for 2 slices and a drink or $3 for 1 slice and a drink.
We still need donations of candy and cookie decorations. Please drop off your donation in the family room. Any questions about how you can help, please call Felicia Seubert at 425-745-9845. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

IT’S WINTERGREEN TIME!
Once again it is our pleasure to offer fresh, fragrant and beautiful wintergreens for the holidays. Information is coming home in today’s packets.
This is a great opportunity to get something wonderful for your home and support Madrona Associated Student Body at the same time. Make sure checks are made out to MIT as they process all of our orders. For every three wreaths or one garland that you order your name will be added to a drawing to receive a $100 scrip gift certificate of your choice. Orders are due by November 7th and will be available for pickup on November 20th.
MENTOR READING BUDDIES
Do you have friends or family members who would like to be a Madrona Mentors Reading Buddy? We love grandparent volunteers! Volunteers are matched up with a primary grade student for oral reading practice 30 minutes once per week. Training is available. PARENT CONFERENCES
Parent conferences are scheduled all next week. Students will be dismissed at 12:10, after lunch. DHH students will be dismissed at 11:50. Please make sure your children know where they are to go after school during these shortened days. Buses will drop students at their normal stops.
