TRICK OR TREAT FOR UNICEF
UNICEF is about kids helping kids. Did you know that $1 can immunize a child against measles for life? How about collecting $3 to buy a blanket to keep a child warm or a filter to purify a family’s drinking water? Yu can make a difference in someone else’s life just by collecting pennies. The money raised through UNICEF provides immunizations, education, health care, nutrition, clean water and sanitation for children in 156 countries.
The kids at Madrona were so successful last year collecting coins for UNICEF while Trick or Treating that we’re doing it again! We’ve decided to increase our school goal to $500 so we hope you will choose to participate.
Pick up a UNICEF box in the office or at the Bear Scare. All you have to do is collect coins when you go out Trick or Treating. Then bring you box back to the big box in the office and it will be turned in to UNICEF. We hope you will join Madrona’s efforts to help children around the globe.
If you have any questions email Deborah Binder (Jai’s mom) at jazzyoga@earthlink.net. To learn more about Trick or Treat for UNICEF go to www.unicefusa.org/trickortreat.
SEUSSICAL
The Mardrona Children’s Theater will hold a Parent/Student Meeting on Monday, October 29th at 7pm in the Cafeteria. If your child is considering being in this year’s theater production of Seussical, come and find out more information and ask questions about the production and its time commitments.
ENRICHMENT CLASSES
All after school classes are up and running. The parent enrichment committee hopes that the kids are getting to their classes safely. We are still looking for parent volunteers who would like to be walking buddies, escorting students from centers to their class.
Explore Language has space available in French, Japanese and Mandarin and will start running the classes if enough people register. Currently Spanish is being held on Mondays and Wednesdays after school. Call Michelle at 206-568-0480 for further information. Registration forms are available in the family room.
