You can now buy your scrip on-line with a credit card!! Go to the bearfacts website and click on "Scrip". Also, if you are planning a vacation this summer, we have many hotels, restaurants, and gas stations available for your trip! Purchase your gift cards from Madrona and use them for grocery shopping! Also, Teacher Appreciation Week and Mother's Day are quickly approaching. INK CARTRIDGES RECYCLING PROGRAM
We need a volunteer who would like to take over our Cartridges for Kids program. It’s an easy job! The person who takes this on would have to box up the cartridges and have them picked up by Fed Ex. If you’re interested or have questions please email Kim Magana at kimmagana@msn.com.
BUY ENTERTAINMENT BOOKS FOR NEW PRESCHOOL KINDERGARTEN PLAYGROUND
Due to a change in safety regulations, we need to purchase new playground equipment for the play area between buildings 2 and 3. Buy an Entertainment Book at the reduced price of $15, and 100% of the price goes to the playground fund. Ask at the Office, call Kim at (425)431-2911, or Linda at (425) 879-6458.
MADRONA JAZZ NIGHT – APRIL 30th - 6:30 - 9:00pm (Wed)
Come and enjoy the music of our amazing Jazz I & II bands. There will also be Madrona alumni and special guests playing. This is a fundraiser for the entire music department and everyone is invited. There will be goodies, Italian sodas, a silent auction, and raffle. Come and bid on fun music items, music lessons, and gift certificates. WASL TESTING GOING ON NOW!
WASL Testing for students in grades three through eighth is going on now. Parents provide important support for their student’s success which includes:
- Adequate rest.
- Punctual attendance at school. (Testing usually starts first thing in the morning – when important directions are given!)
- Verbal encouragement of the child’s ability to do their best.
Testing continues for three weeks ending May 1st. Thank you for supporting your student!
MARINERS FIELD TRIP FOR INTERMEDIATE P.E. STUDENTS
The correct date for this field trip is Wednesday, June 4th. Please ignore the May date as it was an error. I believe all other information on the packet is correct. Please, parents, read ALL the information before returning the permission slip and check to MIT. We are hoping that each center will have at least 8 parent chaperones. However, I have set aside only 240 seats so be sure to return your permission slip on time, April 30th deadline, so I can see if it is necessary/possible to procure more seats. The permission slip and check to MIT ($15/ticket) should be returned to the MIT field trip box in each intermediate center classroom. The field trip coordinators will collect and deposit the $. They will mark the permission slip “paid” and pass it on to me, BJ Stephenson, P.E. specialist and field trip coordinator for the Mariners ball game.
