The primary teachers will be present to share general information about the transition from kindergarten into the primary multi-age centers and how parents can support their child’s success. This meeting is not about student placement into specific primary centers, but is intended to highlight the shared practices and expectations of all of our primary centers. Specific student placement information is mailed to homes in mid August. Parents have found this information helpful in past years – we encourage you to attend if you can.

PLEASE RETURN LIBRARY BOOKS!
The end of the school year is quickly approaching. It’s time to find all library books and return them. June 6th is the final day for getting materials back to the library. Thanks for your cooperation! Ann DeVight –Librarian.
FROM THE PRIMARY TEAM
At the assembly on Tuesday, Madrona recognized both the attribute of the month, perseverance, and Memorial Day. We handed out poppies to recognize and honor the men and women who have died while serving their country. Poppies were first used in France to help raise money for widows and orphans of soldiers killed in battle. The poppies your students received at the assembly were provided to us as part of the Buddy Poppy program run by the United States Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) which helps support veteran affairs by providing jobs for disabled and needy veterans and also raising money to support veterans and their dependents. We will be accepting donations for the next week if you would like to help support the VFW’s Buddy Poppy program. Checks should be made out to VFW and can be turned in to your child’s classroom or to any primary classroom.

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO VOLUNTEERED!
Thanks so much to everyone who volunteered their time or sent meals during Teacher Appreciation week and Brunch. We really appreciate all of your help and yummy food! A special thanks to Clark Grasher for making all of the delicious desserts! Everyone really enjoyed them! We also would like to thank the Starbucks Baristas from the downtown Edmonds store and the Westgate store for taking time to come here and make coffee drinks for our teachers! It’s such a great treat! We couldn’t pull off Teacher Appreciation Week without our volunteers so THANK YOU!
Kim Magana - Volunteer Program Manager
LOST AND FOUND ATTENTION PARENTS!
We still have over 80 items in Lost & Found. We only can keep things for 4-6 weeks due to space and then items are donated to charity. The end of the year is almost here and we will be donating EVERYTHING that is left over. It will not be here next year. Please come and look through the lost & found in the cafeteria or have your kids look before the end of the year. We have very nice coats, scarfs, gloves, shoes, slippers. Come find your lost items before it’s too late!!
