Please contact Kim Magana at kimmagana@msn.com if you can help decorate the Staff Lounge the morning of the 8th, help serve food during the brunch or be on clean up crew.
Can you contribute a dish to the Fiesta Teacher Potluck on May 8th?
Contact your center’s coordinator if you can help!

NOMINATE MIT BOARD CANDIDATES
It is time to nominate candidates for the 2008-09 MIT Board. Please nominate yourself or someone who you know would be a willing member of your Parent Teacher Student Organization. This is an opportunity to help Madrona be a great place for our kids. Look for nomination forms in your kids' mail, or online at www.madronabearfacts.com. Nomination deadline: Monday May 17th.
PLEASE TAKE TIME TO TAKE THIS SURVEY
Each year Madrona’s Learning Environment Team sets goals as part of the school improvement plan or SIP. We collect information about the culture of our school in a number of ways. One of the most valuable is the annual Madrona as a Caring Community Survey. This survey is given to all staff, students and parents for input about the learning environment at the school. Parents provide a valuable perspective through their own observations and those shared by their children. Please take a few moments to complete the following anonymous survey. We will use the results to formulate programs and goals for the 2008-09 school at a staff retreat on May 9th. Thank you for your time! Please contact Craig Baldwin with any questions. baldwinc@edmonds.wednet.edu or 425-431-7981
Thanks, Craig Baldwin Assistant Principal

REFRIGERATOR NEEDS A GOOD HOME
I have a perfectly good refrigerator that I would like to give to a family in need. It is only leaving my house because we are upgrading our kitchen. The old refrigerator is clean, works perfectly, top freezer, moderate size with nothing fancy, color-bone. Does anyone know of someone who would be in need of a refrigerator? Cheers, BJ Stephenson-431-2940.
CHANGE OF START/END TIME FOR SCHOOLS NEXT YEAR
The District has determined that they will save over $200,000 in the transportation budget by standardizing the start and end times of all of the District schools. This means that the elementary schools that have started at 9:10 AM and ended at 3:40 PM will change by ten minutes beginning next school year. Madrona K-8 will start at 9:20 AM and end school at 3:50 PM beginning next fall. See the District Newsletter for adjusted start times for all schools.
