PICTURE RETAKES MOVED TO WEDNESDAY, OCT. 8TH
Please mark your calendars: picture retakes have been rescheduled from September 30th to October 8th. This is so the studio can get classroom photos to you at the same time your portrait packages come home, and families have more time to review their individual portraits.

MIT MEETING AND VOLUNTEER FAIR!
Please join us for the first M.I.T. meeting of the year TONIGHT~ Sept. 24th at 7:00 in the library, immediately following the Volunteer Fair which starts at 5:45. Volunteers are required to have picture ID and can have photo badges made for $5 during this time. Information about volunteerism is also available. If you need a DSL interpreter or childcare for the meeting, please let me know at empathic_negotiation@hotmail.com. We ask that you make a donation to the middle school students for childcare.

FUN MATH FAMILY NIGHT!
Thursday, Oct. 2nd 2008 from 6:30-8:00 in the library Please join the Madrona community for a FUN family math night! We will creatively explore a GIANT problem and think about math in different ways. Students, please attend with a parent or guardian and plan to be there the entire time so we can complete the entire activity together. We hope you can join us for this new Madrona tradition! Look for the parent volunteer form if you would like to help out with this event.
MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMP FUNDRAISER:
Support Madrona's Middle School Students and Support Fair Trade! Only a few more days to sell items to raise money for Camp Orkila! Please make sure permission slips are turned in by Friday. Fundraiser order forms and money collected are due on Monday the 29th. Camp Fees for Fundraiser participants due no later than Friday October 3rd.This is a fundraiser to help Individual Middle School Students raise money for camp. Students make 25% on what they sell. The additional profit is sent back to the communities these items were made in. Support Madrona Middle School and Support Fair Trade. Go to Marketstreettraders.com to learn more about Fair Trade. MONTHLY COFFEE CONVERSATION WITH LYNDA AND CRAIG
Lynda and Craig host an informal coffee hour for parents to chat about school life each month. No agenda or presentations, just informal conversation. We’ll have coffee and some treats and make ourselves available to talk about whatever is on your mind. Mark your calendar if you’d like to chat! SCRIP TABLE NEWS!
The school year off to a good start at the scrip table. New vendors we have this year are Payless Shoes, PCC Market, and Petsmart. The scrip table is open every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday outside the main office. Please stop by and check out the large assortment of gift cards available. WAMU SCHOOL SAVINGS PROGRAM INFO!
The WAMU School Savings Program is getting started for the year. Banking days are switching to MONDAYS this year, from 9:00-9:30 AM in the cafeteria. The first banking day will be next Monday, 9/15. Introductory packets are going home with all Kindergarteners this week; anyone else who needs a packet can pick one up in the Family Room. WAMU will mail quarterly statements to the student's home address and you can also earn prizes! For questions please contact Susan Christian at christian7007@hotmail.com or 425-744-1551.
