Snack Attack!

MIT is sponsoring an All School Service Project in partnership with Washington Kids In Transition to prepare snack bags that are currently provided to over 250 students per day in the Edmonds School District.

Between now and May 17th we will be collecting the following items to be packed in the cafeteria the night of the Art Walk (Each item needs to be prepacked and individually wrapped). Look for collection bins near the classrooms:

  • A granola bar (item cannot contain nuts but it can be packed in a facility that processes nuts.)
  • Cheese crackers or something similar (goldfish, Ritz crackers with cheese, crackers with spreadable cheese are examples)
  • Fruit – Can be fruit leather, fruit squeezers, fruit snacks. (no fruit cups please.)
  • Slim Jim pepperoni sticks

As a bonus, any student who participates the night of the packing party will have their name entered into a drawing for a gift basket filled with art supplies. We are planning on having baskets for Primary, Intermediate and Middle School students.

Please plan to participate as you come to view your student’s art works.
