Class Descriptions

ArtWise (Grades 1-6)

This “Drawing and Painting class” This class is designed to help advance your artists drawing methods at any age. We will also be learning various painting techniques to challenge different skill levels. Additionally, artists will learn about the Principles of Art and Design, along with the Elements of Art. We hope you will join us as we dive into watercolor, acrylic paint, drawing, mixed media and more…

ASL Advanced (Grades K-8)

Must have completed the ASL basic class and have permission from Thawin to move to the ASL advanced class. In this class students will continue adding more signs and conversation to use with signs.

ASL Beginner (Grades K-8)

Learn American Sign Language! Students will learn what the most used signs in our school environment are and will also learn basic Deaf Culture.

Cheer (Grades K-8)

We will be learning jumps, kicks, stretches, motions, cheers, chants, and at least one dance. Our goal is to perform at an assembly! All genders are welcome.

Chess Club (Grades 1-8)

Learn to play chess! One new lesson for the whole class every week and plenty of time to play chess after.

Crochet Beginner (Grades 2-8)

Make Yourself Something to Wear – Beginner Crochet: If you are completely new to crochet we can teach you the basics while we make a stripy scarf or a cozy collar. We have all the yarn and equipment you will need.

Crochet Intermediate (Grades 2-8)

Make Yourself Something to Wear – Intermediate Crochet: If you know how to do chains and single crochet you can learn some new skills and make some mitts or a hat. We have all the supplies and patterns you will need. If you are feeling more adventurous we are happy to support you in picking a pattern or working on a pattern you bring to class.

Jazz Club (Grades 5–8)

Learn to play jazz, improvise solos, and explore styles like blues and swing. Open to saxophones, trumpets, trombones, piano, guitar, bass, and drums. One year of experience recommended.

Snapology: Incredible Inventions Robotics Engineering & Coding (Grades 3-7) 

Who ever said you couldn’t solve the world’s problems with LEGO® bricks? Learn a little about the process real inventors go through to create new inventions while you help design, build, and program robotic machines to solve problems.

Snapology: KinderBots Robotics & Coding (Grades PK-2) 

In this beginner robotics program, your little engineer will begin to explore the world of robotics as they build simple models that teach the fundamentals of robotic design. Whether learning about motors while building drills and catapults or exploring how to use sensors while playing with a magic wand or a goal kicker, we are certain your child will have a great time while they are learning a ton about robots and how to work effectively with a partner! 
Academic enrichment: Programming Skills, Mechanical Elements (motors, sensors, gears, axles), Following Instructions, Communication, and Collaboration Skills.

Taekwondo (Ages 7+)

Taekwondo is a form of martial arts with a rich history tracing back to Korea. Classes will help students with self-defense, self-esteem, respect, confidence, and leadership skills. This program is designed for everyone regardless of age, gender, or ability. All levels of experience are welcome. Uniforms will be included for first time students. This class will be presented in ASL with ASL interpreters available.
