Bear Scare:

Welcome all Ghouls and Goblins to Madrona’s fantastic festive night of fun: Bear Scare 2023!  It’s a spectral shindig full of surprises and even a few spooks.  We are looking for volunteers to make this event a Spooktacular good time.  Volunteer and chair positions include: ticket sales/admissions, games, pizza, decorations, candy crafts, cake walk, cookie decorating, setup and shutdown.  It’s a ghoultastic good time and really fun to volunteer to see what joy it brings to the kids.  Bear Scare will be held on October 27th from 6pm-8pm.  Our first planning meeting will be held on Thursday 09/21/23 at 5pm by the front door to meet volunteers, briefly walk through the space and go over any questions.  Thanks!  Questions? Deaf Awareness Week at Madrona:

September 25th – 29th, 2023

September is Deaf Awareness Month and September 23rd is International Sign Language Day. Madrona has a long tradition of celebrating Deaf Awareness Week, but due to Covid-19, building moves, and leadership transitions we haven’t been able to do so for the past three years. After 3 years, now it’s back!

Deaf Awareness Week at Madrona is September 25-29th.

Kassy Lynch, an 8th grade Deaf and Hard of Hearing student, won the DHH button design contest. Her logo will be made into buttons for everyone at Madrona school.

Deaf Awareness Week will include facts about Deaf culture read during morning announcements, morning meeting plans with different activities, and the library will have ASL books and bookmarks available. Centers and Homerooms can even sign up to request a visit by a Deaf staff member to teach a few signs, read a book or answer questions. It’s going to be a great week!

MCT:

You’ve asked for it and we’re bringing it back!  Madrona Childrens Theatre will be back in Spring 2024.  Dust off those acting hats!  More exciting information is to come!  Stay tuned!
