Join us for engaging before- and after-school enrichment programs!

Madrona Integrated Team is proud to offer enrichment opportunities that go beyond the standard school curriculum.  These classes can be led by Madrona staff, students and especially by parents/care givers!  If you have a talent, passion, or hobby you’d love to share with students, we’d love for you to consider hosting a class.

During this afterschool program, kids will learn yoga poses, play group games, do art projects, and complete yoga challenges. Classes also focus on learning how to calm bodies after being silly and different strategies for deep breathing – all while having fun! Our after-school program starts by teaching kids a breathing exercise that matches the theme of the day. Students then are led through an opening sun salutation (they practice this every class and get really good at it!) and then move into practicing yoga poses and short yoga sequences for the first half of class. The second half of class will have students practicing their yoga poses through either a game, craft, or activity. The class ends in “Peaceful Garden” when kids get cozy on their mats and listen to a short meditation – a kid’s version of shavasana. During the class, reminders of breathing techniques and mindfulness are added in, so kids are learning skills in real time!
